Northwest Hoosier Basket Guild is pleased to present Sandy Bulgrin of Wisconsin for a Weekend Weaving Workshop. All weavers are welcome to join Sandy on May, 4, 5 and 6 at the Porter County United Way Conference Room in Valparaiso, IN. Registration is limited and basket classes are on a first come, first serve basis and ONLY when your check made out to Sandy Bulgrin for the amount of the class and dated by May 4, 2012 is received. Click for more info Our April meeting will be Monday, April 16, 2012 at 6 PM. The project will be "Let's Make a Deal". JoAnn Lawrence will bring 20 kits which will be sealed so the basket style is unknown. You will be able to "make a deal" with Joann for a kit ranging from $5 - $12. Sounds like fun! Weavers and Friends ~ Northwest Hoosier Basket Guild was organized in September, 1991, for the purpose of promoting the art of basket making to interested individuals. Monthly meetings - except July and December (Christmas Party) - are held on the 3rd Monday at the United Way of Porter County Conference Room at 951 Eastport Centre Dr., Valparaiso, IN 46383. Programs related to basketry are provided monthly by members. There is a fee for lessons set by teachers if applicable. Programs start at 6 PM and a business meeting follows at 7 PM. Refreshments are served by several members who volunteer to bring snacks or dessert. Anyone who has some weaving skills and is interested in weaving baskets is invited to join us at any of our monthly meetings. Dues are $20 per year and are due by February 1st annually. A monthly newsletter is sent to all members by your choise of email or postal service. * * * * * * * * * * * * If you attended our fifth fall Retreat at the Expo in September we thank you for joining us and hope you had an enjoyable time and went home with beautiful handwoven treasures. After much discussion and thought, Guild members have decided to forego 2012 for another Retreat at the Expo. It is hoped that the Guild will sponsor special teachers to come for a weekend weave.
